Maple-Sriracha Bacon

You will be the most popular person at the brunch when you show up with a platter of this bacon. Be sure to brush it on the bacon a few times as it cooks, so the flavour really soaks in. It even works well as an appetizer for a football or hockey party...let your imagination run wild - everything is better with bacon anyhow!

  • 1 lb thick cut bacon
  • 3 tbsp Ontario Maple Sryup
  • 2 tsp sriracha hot sauce

  1. Heat oven to 400°F and line 2 rimmed baking sheets with parchment or foil. Lay bacon on parchment, making sure slices don’t overlap.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together maple syrup and sriracha and brush the bacon slices on both sides with it. You will still have lots of sauce – but you will continue to brush the bacon as it cooks.
  3. Place the pans of bacon in the oven and bake until browned and crispy, about 18 to 25 minutes (depending on the thickness of your bacon), brushing the tops of the bacon with more maple-Sriracha sauce a couple of times during the baking process (once about halfway through, and once towards the very end when they are almost done.) Transfer to a platter and serve immediately.

Serve with our Fluffy Buttermilk Pancakes with Maple Cinnamon Syrup.
